Ulivo monumentale Sa Reina

The monumental olive tree Sa Reina is located in the territory of Villamassargia, in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is one of the most impressive examples of secular olive trees in Sardinia. The tree is inserted in a rural context characterized by countryside, Mediterranean scrub and hilly landscapes typical of the south-west of the island.
It is a large olive tree, with a strongly twisted trunk and a wide foliage, result of centuries of growth in natural environmental conditions. Its structure bears witness to the longevity of the species and the historical link between man and the cultivation of olive in the territory of Sulcis.
