Villaggio Nuragico Antas

The Nuragic Village – Antas Archaeological Area, located in the territory of Fluminimaggiore in Sulcis-Iglesiente, is one of the most important archaeological contexts of south-western Sardinia. The site is located in a valley of great suggestion, dominated by limestone reliefs and a natural environment rich in Mediterranean vegetation, near the famous temple of Antas.
The area preserves the traces of an ancient settlement linked to the nuragic civilization, which developed in close connection with the surrounding territory and with the natural resources of the valley. The remains of the village testify to the presence of organized communities that lived and operated in this strategic place, in a context that combines history, spirituality and landscape.
Today the archaeological site of Antas is a fundamental point of reference for the understanding of prenuragic and nuragic Sardinia, thanks to the inclusion of settlements and religious elements that make the area particularly significant from the historical and cultural point of view.
